During the recent Data and AI Forum , Oracle announced the implementation of generative AI across its entire technology stack. This advancement was made possible by the availability of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI service which promises to make it easier for businesses to adopt the latest developments in generative AI.
enerative AI OCI with Cohere and Meta Llama 2
The fully managed OCI Generative AI service integrates the Cohere and Meta Llama 2 Large Language Models (LLM), allowing you to meet a wide range of business needs. The service now offers multilingual features supporting over 100 languages, an enhanced GPU cluster management experience, and flexible tuning options. Customers can use the OCI Generative AI service both in Oracle Cloud and on-premises, through so-called OCI Dedicated Regions (Cloud at Customer – cloud solution managed by Oracle in the customer's data center).
Greg Pavlick , senior vice president, AI and data management, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said: “Our goal is to use AI to solve real-world use cases and drive widespread adoption at the enterprise level. . To achieve this, we integrate AI into every level of the technology stack.
To simplify customization of generative AI models and address needs related to text generation and semantic similarity, the latest Adhere and Meta Llama 2 models will be available in a managed service accessible via API calls. Additionally, customers will be able to integrate generative AI into their technology stack securely and easily, with strict security measures and data governance.
OCI generative AI agents in beta
Currently in beta, the OCI Generative AI Agents service with a RAG agent combines the power of LLMs and enterprise-grade search powered by OCI Open Search to deliver contextualized results enriched by enterprise data. Ritu Jyoti Group Vice President, Worldwide Artificial Intelligence and Automation Research Practice and Global AI Research Lead at IDC, commented: “With today's announcement, Oracle brings generative AI to workloads and data clients – it does not require clients to move their data into a separate vector database. .”
Oracle's advanced AI infrastructure and comprehensive portfolio of cloud applications create a powerful combination that ensures customer success. By integrating generative AI into its portfolio of cloud applications, including ERP, HCM, SCM and CX, Oracle enables its customers to leverage the latest innovations within existing business processes. Additionally, Oracle is integrating GenAI capabilities into its database portfolio to enable customers to build their own AI-based applications.
Standalone Database Select AI
With Autonomous Database Select AI, customers can accelerate application development or create new business solutions by combining the use of their private business data with the productivity and creativity of generative AI. To help customers build, train, deploy and manage LLMs with open source libraries such as Hugging Face's Transformers or PyTorch, Oracle is also extending OCI Data Science capabilities. The new OCI Data Science AI Quick Actions feature, which will be in beta next month, will allow code-free access to a number of open source LLMs, including those from major vendors such as Meta or Mistral AI.
